Andres Iniesta wants to see out career with Barca

Barcelona ace Andres Iniesta wants to spend the rest of his career with the Catalan giants, although he is yet to confirm whether he will see sign a new deal.

The Spain international has spent his entire club career to date with the Blaugrana, winning 28 major trophies since making his debut in 2002, including eight La Liga titles and four Champions League crowns.

The 32-year-old’s current contract at Camp Nou is due to expire in the summer of 2018, but he insists he will not think about signing a new deal until the end of the season, although he confirmed he does want to see out his career with Barca.

“Anyone can guess but I have been clear about this [my renewal]. Now the only thing I am worried about is our title aims,” Iniesta said.

“After the season we will review everything, both personal and the club’s side, and that’s it. “I am not saying I won’t renew my contract. I want to finish my career here but that will be decided by my performances on the pitch and my feelings.”

Iniesta has been limited to just 25 appearances in all competitions this season due to injuries and despite his desire to remain at the club, he insists he will only stay if he has an important role to play.

“I won’t stay here if I am not important for the club,” he added. “That’s clear.”

The attacking midfielder will be hoping to feature in Barca’s next match, a home clash with Valencia in La Liga on Sunday, as Luis Enrique’s men aim to keep pace with leaders Real Madrid at the top of the standings.

Barca are priced at 1.13 to win the match, while Valencia are available at 19.00 and the draw is on offer at 9.50.
